Abstract

|
Objective : This study aimed to examine the effects of woodworking on the cognitive function of the elderly with mild cognitive impairment and mild dementia.
Methods : The participants are 32 elderly with mild cognitive impairment and 28 elderly with mild dementia as the experimental and control group. MoCA-K was used to investigate the cognitive functions of the participants
Results : The average score in cognitive function of the mild dementia experimental group improved significantly compared to before(p<.05), and there was a difference in the cognitive function average score between the before and after group(p<.05).
Conclusion : This study confirmed the benefit of improving cognitive function for seniors participating in carpentry activities. As a result, this suggests a course for development in woodworking activities to enhance the cognitive function of dementia patients.
